Dedicated to Goddess Kabbalamma, believed to be the guardian deity of the region, the temple has been a beacon of spiritual devotion and cultural heritage. Architectural Marvel

Facing the temple is a long konda where fire-walking ritual is held during Jatra.

Adjacent to the konda is an enclosure having two hero-stones, also being worshipped by devotees and both have inscriptions. To the north of temple is a Bhairava shrine which has two masks described as kenchann and Kariyanna. It has Prakara and a small Mukhamantapa.

Festivals and Jatra

The temple comes alive during festivals, with elaborate processions, traditional music, and dance performances. Navaratri, spanning nine nights of dedicated worship to Goddess Kabbalamma, witnesses enthusiastic celebrations, attracting devotees from across the region. The festivities add an extra layer of cultural richness to the spiritual experience, making it a joyous occasion for all.

The main festival that is held at the Shree Kabbalamma Temple is the Kabbalamma Jatra, celebrated with much fanfare by the many devotees, most of them from the surrounding area. The Jatra is held during Shivaratri for a span of one week where special Poojas are offered on every Tuesday and Friday. During this festival, the deity is carried on a rath or chariot and taken for a procession around the village before it is returned. Devotees all try to be part of the pulling party, as it is considered auspicious.

Surrounded by lush greenery and serene landscapes, the temple provides not only a spiritual retreat but also an opportunity for devotees to connect with nature and rejuvenate their senses. Above the rocky ceiling is a Shikara and there are two ponds within the precincts of this temple. The hill has fortifications all round. Viewing from this hill in the evening, one can undergo sublime experience enjoying the enchanting scenes including green fields, the gold coated horizon, etc.
