Sangama is a small village in kanakapura taluk in Ramanagara district 60 km from ramanagara. It comes under mahalli panchayat. It is located 59 km from Bangalore. Sangama is surrounded by ramanagara taluk towards north, Thally taluk toward east, channapatana taluk toward west, maddur taluk toward west. Kanakapura taluk is the Nearest town to sangama. Road connectivityis there from kanakapura to sangama. Near the sangama the two river merges arkavathi and kaveri river will join here. Mekedatu
Mekedatu is 4 km from sangama, mekedatu means goat’s leap. The name comes from an incident which is believed to have been witnessed by bersmen in thta area a long time ago. It is said that a goat being chased by a tiger made a desperate attempt to save its life by leaping from one side from George and managed to cross over the raging river below, whereas the tiger did not attempt to replicate this feat, and abandoned the chase. It is believed that only divine goats could have marked their ‘footprints’ in such rocks. This destination attract more number of tourists, and also dander too.
