Ramanagara  District  Statistics and  Progress Report  for the year 2019-20

Department of Sericulture, Zilla Panchayath, Ramanagara

  1. Ramanagara is well known as Silk City and Sericulture is one of the main occupation in the District. It includes 4 Talukas Kanakapura, Channapatna, Ramanagara and Magadi. Out of these in 3 Talukas cocoon production is commercial and in Magadi Taluk Pure Mysore race cocoons produced for seed purpose.
  2. There are 26012  sericulturists  in  3  Talukas  of  the  District  with  30  hectares   under   mulberry   in 1148 villages of  95 Grama panchayaths. There are 1964Scheduled caste, 166 Scheduled Tribe, 348 Minority,  24575 Others  and  20682441  Women sericulturists regularly  engaged in  sericulture  activity. During 2019-20  in  the District 268.387 lakhs of cross-breed and Bivoltine Dfls brushed and produced 19492.912 MT cocoons.
  3. In Mysore seed area that is in Magadi Taluk there are 1153 sericulturists with 300.76 hectares under mulberry engaged regularly in the production of Mysore seed coc oons.
  4. During 2019-20 In MGNREGA Sericulture department programmes like Rising Mulberry Nursery, New Mulberry Plantation, Tree Mulberry Plantation and Maintenance of Mulberry gardens 1886 2712works have been started with expenditure Rs.1822.23 lakhs and created 564384 Mandays.
  5. In the District there are 1254 silk reelers out of that 1114 Minority, 61 Scheduled caste and 79 others. There are 149 Dupion charaka units, 1001 Cottage Basin units, 86 Multi-end reeling units, 11 Automatic reeling units and 2 Automatic Dupion silk reeing units producing approximately 6 to 7 tonnes  of raw silk everyday.

Subsidy for Chawki Rearing Centre

75 % subsidy for crc at unit cost 12.00 lakhs

Registered in Centra Silk Board having 2.00 acres mulberry garden own/lease with drip irrigation.Chawki rearing building with brushing capacity of 1.50 to 1.60 lakhs dfls per year. Chawki rearing should be continued for 5 years and an affidavit produced in 50/- bond paper.

90% subsidy

 90% subsidy for installation drip irrigation of  one hectare mulberry garden by government approved companies and approved unit cost. From this we can reduce 50-70% water usage and also electricity charges and  labour cost. As per Government of India guidelines 90% subsidy upto 2.00 hectares and 45% subsidy for more than 2.00 hectares  upto  5.00 . hectares to all category sericulturists.

Free supply of Disinfectants to Sericulturists

Free suppy of disinfectants, bed disinfectants and growth promoters

 

Free suppy of disinfectants, bed disinfectants and growth promoters to general, scheduled caste and scheduled tribe sericulturists. For the disinfection of silkworm rearing houses before and after silkworm rearing for disease control and mulberry garden improvement.

Subsidy for New Plantation

75% subsidy for new plantation to general sericulturists, 90% subsidy to scheduled caste and scheduled tribe sericulturists at the unit cost of Rs 50000/-

 

Subsidy for new plantation to all the category sericulturists  approved by taluk panchayath.
